Today a group of us went to vist the Chateau in Versailles. It is supposed to be the biggest Palace in Europe but didn't seem that big to me. They had some sparcely decorated rooms and some average looking grounds, not really the makings of a palace. One thing that was very strange was how small all of the beds are in the rooms; either the French Royals were dwarfs or they didnt understand how good is it to be able to sleep in any direction on a bed.
There are supposed to be a very large number of water fountains in the area but none of them were on this weekend. I think they only turn them on for special occasions. |
