Back to the UK :-) Today I got back to the UK for Christmas until the 2nd of January. Quite a long holiday but I was forced to take that long because otherwise the company would want me to pay towards the flight home (obviously not realistic). The flight was about 5 hours long, plus an additional one hour sitting on the tarmac at Heathrow because they couldnt organise a ground crew to get the stairs and buses. I was flying by BA and the flight was ok, the food was a "breakfast" meal and pretty poor but I made do. 11 pounds for the train and an hour or so later I was back in Welwyn, I then had a couple of hours at home to relax and then straight to the optician to get my eyes tested. There was only a minor change in my prescription but I had to make best use of my medical cover; I then spent 200 pounds of the companies money on some new glasses :-) The problem with my medical cover is that there is a yearly allowance and you lose it if you dont use it !! This holiday will be spent meeting up with people and trying to get some reading done (for me job). |
