About 30 minutes from Taba is a new development called "Taba Heights", this is a collection of new hotels and facilities designed to pull in more tourists.

One of the activities available in the area is quad biking. For the princely sum of 500 Egyptian pounds each we were picked up and taken on a quad biking tour for 2 hours. The tour took us over some sandy tracks and around the mountains; finally ending up at a fake Bedouin camp with an offer of an expensive camel ride : - ) Everywhere in Egypt is someone trying to take your money in return for a camel ride.

The quad bikes were pretty fast but they always insist on everyone driving in a convoy to stop people going fast and crashing. I finished up the trip covered in a brown sandy dust and then back to the hotel for a spot of lunch and then down to the beach.
