On the way to Trinidad we stopped at a large memorial site where Che and lots of other revolutionaries are buried. This is the place shown below with the statue of Che and a big memorial picture. At the other side of this building was an underground memorial with artifacts and pictures from the revolutionary days. Che's was heavily featured in his youth with Castro. There were also some young Cuban military people at the site, whether guarding it or just touring the site as well, I am not sure.
The first few pictures below show a small government shop where local people can buy the basics, oil, rice etc at very cheap prices, essentially rationed. It's a little more backwards than what you'd find in Baku. During the tour in Trinidad we saw a demonstration of a guy rolling some cigars, the tour guide made of a point of saying that he was selling proper cigars and promptly got a few free cigars as a backhand deal. Later he got a few free drinks in a bar with a live band for bringing everyone in, it's a very corrupt closed culture here. One thing I am not sure about is how the government control the flow and price of tabacco; tabacco should be very cheap but cigars are expensive such that a local person who makes them could never afford them.
At one point in the tour we passed a building which is featured on a 25 cent Cuban Convertible Peso coin.
