This last week has been filled by looking at more technical things than previously. I have worked with a few tools which are used in the field, such as a fibre splicer and pressure/temp guages. I have also been doing some reading about an upcoming offshore job I should be going on.
This week I also found out that I have won two safety awards. One for my department and another for the whole Baku base. I had been doing some complaining about road safety and my complaining has been rewarded :-) Although as with all things you have to take the rough with the smooth; I was asked to give a presentation to the department about the safety issues to help raise awareness. The prizes are a T-Shirt and a choice of a mobile phone, house phone or memory stick. I have got the T-Shirt but I am hoping to negotiate the other prize for something else. |
