Two Weeks in Cuba

Today was the start of my two week holiday in Cuba. We started with a very painful flight on "Air Tours" airline in a truely tiny seat. The flight was also split in two halves, Gatwick, Holguin (Cuba), a two hour wait then back on the same plane to Varadero. Total time pissing around on planes and such was about 15 hours. Once we finally made it to Varadero airport we got on a bus which took us to our hotel, this was the start of the money grabbing. There was a guide on the bus who said abit about being in Cuba, travel advise and what not, then just before the journey finished he mentioned tips. He made some unreasonable claims that huge tipping was commonplace, really just a trick to get niave tourists to give him a small fortune. He was obviously hoping for some big notes from people who have just changed their money in the airport.

We arrived at the hotel at about 10ish, checked in, had some food then slept; the goal being to get up fairly early, have a meeting with our tour rep and see what was going on.

One thing to note is that during the entire two weeks in Cuba we only saw one UK flag. All of the hotels have loads of flags at the front but never a UK flag... I suppose this could be due to certain alliance with another country not represented.
