Another week or so has come and gone. I have spent alot of my time in the workshop and yard messing around with various tools. The weather has ranged from very hot to some serious rain and i've been outside working through it all.
The big event of this weekend was a department meal for completions. Unfortuntaely I left my camera at the office so no pictures :( The event was held in one of the most expensive restaurents in Baku (Karavan Saray) and started around 8-9pm as people slowely started to arrive. The night was tarnished by a "strike" from the local guys, the restaurent was booked for around 40 people but only about half showed up, mainly expats. The only locals to show up were those who had been on a rig until 6pm that night and hadnt heard about the stike. The meal cost about 3000 dollars (not including drinks) and alot of food went to waste so the management werent very impressed. I expect there will be some fallout tomorrow when everyone is back at work :-) |
