Today Ale and I went to London Zoo and spent the day there looking around. At the moment the big thing they are advertising is the Gorilla exhibit and I caught a few pictures of the Animal in question. The Gorillas have an indoor and outdoor area but all I saw was two very depressed looking Gorillas sitting around and trying to avoid all the people. They spent most of their time with their backs turned to all of the people, obviously trying to ignore them.
One of the best things we saw in the zoo was the little seahorses. There as a container full of them and some little shrimp things. When we were there one of the seahorses started attacking one of them and sucking it with its long mouth, after a few attacks it started eating it and the other seahorses joined in munching it.
We didn't manage to see the whole zoo as we arrived at midday and the zoo closes around 5:30pm. We tried to stay later but the zoo keepers hid all the animals away in their indoor sections and lock the doors. They obviously think this is the most effective technique to empty the zoo. It was a real shame they closed so early because it was such a nice day.
On the way back from the zoo we had a disaster with the trains. The Welwyn Garden City station was shut due to a lack of lighting and we got diverted to Welwyn North, then Hatfield, then we waited an hour in the cold and eventually were told to get on a public bus back to Welwyn. First captial connect trains are a terrible company with a non existent emergency response plan, their service is embarrassing.
Luckily the night finished on a high note and we had a nice Indian meal in Welwyn.
