On Wednesday night the company took us out Karting straight after work. The karting place was huge and they had to cut down the course to make it usable. We were put into teams of three and took it in turns to race. In my group there was a girl from France and guy from Nigeria, all the teams were very diverse with people from all over the world.
Video showing the karting place We started karting with a test drive around the track. After the test drive we had a 30 minute competition between the groups to find the group with the best lap time. Unfortunately my group came in about tenth. My lap times were not very impressive because I was using the brake at corners to avoid flying off the track. As soon as I saw my lap times, I realised that using the brake is a mistake and it's better to be dangerous :-) Next came the final, the starting order was decided by the lap time competition. The final was all about the group with the most laps. When it was my go, everything was going fine and I was flying around corners until I got bumped and flew off onto the mud. After this it all started going downhill for me so I switched out to the next person in the group. In the end we fell into about 11th place, so unfortunately no trophy. |
